This specimen is a solid fragment of manganite with a l;ittle goethite on the bottom. There is a vug in the top of thpiece that is lined with compound, lustrous prisms of pitch-black manganite. Very good example of this mineral.

A nice deep, well protected vug of very lustrous, black, bladed manganite crystals. It is difficult to see that the vug is deep in the photograph due to the black, lustrous nature of the crystals but it is! Beautiful piece that shows well.
